London--The United Kingdom spends the majority of its funds for particle physics and astronomy on subscriptions to international research centers, while support for domestic research in those fields has declined in the past 2 decades. High-energy physicists and astronomers believe that Britain's standing in these fields is in danger, but they are not getting much support from their colleagues in other disciplines.
