Brisbane, Australia--Australia's rural landscape is dominated by a mosaic of crop land and pasture, with little native vegetation to protect the country's indigenous species. An ecologist for the country's Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organization has come up with a new model that promises to help preserve biodiversity on private lands without detracting from the land's economic value.
